CREATIVE HISTORIES - Grid Research

I have been exploring and developing my idea over the past couple of weeks and I have decided to change the concept of my video to something a bit more focused. Instead of playing with the concept of order and chaos using grids, I will simply look at exploring what a grid is and how it is used. As grids have always been part of my design process I think that this is a good area to look at in detail. Since experimenting with different ways of illustrating chaos and order I have found that building a grid in a video is something that I can do. Whilst trying to do this section by section I had the idea to create a video that looks at each part of a grid whilst it is being built and look at the over all function of grids in design.

To do this I have been researching grid theory and practical grid usage in design. I am going to use what I have found in this research to form the basis of my content. In a one minute video I want to look at the basic anatomy of a grid and explain what functions they serve. This will mean trying to present the most relevant information in the time available. Grid theory is complex and there is a lot to explain so this will have to be a video of just the basics.
